Hello,

I have a trial version of SpySubtract which, upon start up, gives me this reading after a scan, and considers it an infection. Is it dangerous?

IEPlugin
Tool name: Registry Scanner
Infection location: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchUrl
Infection type: Registry
Infection risk level: Medium
Infection description: IEPlugin is an IE Browser Helper Object. It monitors site addresses, content entered into forms, and even local filenames browsed, and pops up advertisements when it sees a targeted keyword. It also installs a process to update itself, which will attempt to connect to its servers every minute or so.

Doesn't that tell you enough?

Yes it certainly prompted me to ask for help here. To remove it, can I go to Hijack this and check it for removal?

It might not be that simple, there'll be the IEPlugin.dll file for one thing, and likely a .exe file to delete as well.

Please post a hijackthis log for review.
