I need some suggestions examples of major spyware/adware companies whose practices would not be affected by the proposed anti-spyware bills in Congress now.

Here's the newest revision of the SPY ACT, H.R. 2929 (PDF file)

http://www.spywarewarrior.com/files/AINS_FL.PDF

There is another bill just approved in a Senate committee on the 22nd, SPYBLOCK, online here:

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c108:S.2145:

Quote:
The Senate Commerce Committee approved a revised version of the Burns-Wyden "SPYBLOCK" Act on September 22. The bill would give the FTC authority over a variety of spyware-related activities, and would make covert installation of software illegal. Anti-spyware legislation has now been approved by Committees in both the House and Senate, and is awaiting consideration by the full membership in both houses. September 23, 2004

Edit - I goofed the first time I posted this. What I need is examples of major spyware vendors whose practices would *not* be affected by the proposed legislation, the purpose being to show why the legislation is weak and would not be effective.

Please respond and add your examples.

Thanks.

Can anyone give me information about groups or organizations that support spyware and/or oppose legislation that regulates spyware? Thanks.
