someone here in SpywareWarrior.com recommended i get SiteHound, after she (@chryssi2001) had helped me clean out my laptop of all malware.

i noticed that, starting with Firefox 3, SiteHound was no longer compatible with Firefox, and eventually, SiteHound announced on its website that it was "currently in the process of 'rewriting' SiteHound".

lately i have been reading on PC-World and PC-Magazine about some other programs/add-ons that do the same thing as SiteHound, such as McAfee SiteAdvisor and Web-Of-Trust. i have read [and heard] a couple of bad things about McAfee SiteAdvisor (including, that its database of "bad" websites is not updated that often, and is often extremely outdated). but i have not read any complaints so far about Web-Of-Trust.

can anyone tell me which is the best phishing-website-blocker add-on/program currently out there?, as SiteHound currently won't work on the latest version of Firefox (as stated in the "Subject" line, i have Firefox 3.6.12 installed and use that as my main browser, and only use IE8 for using "Windows Update").

K9 Web Protection works well for me in blocking malware sites

http://download.cnet.com/K9-Web-Protection-32-bit/3000-27064_4-10487710.html

http://www1.k9webprotection.com/

although note by default it also blocks adult/abortion/blasphemous content, so you will need to go into settings to reduce the level if you do not want that, video on youtube explaining some of the functions here:

That post above is over 2 years old now. I suggest you do some additional research before taking that advice.
