For some reason, there are times when IE encounters a problem, stops, and has to reopen to resume. What should I do?

Sorry but I can't. It pops up at times, and if I needed to do something important, whatever this thing is ruins it and I have start over.

Looking at the Google results for a search on that...

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=internet+explorer+has+encountered+problem&revid=1711290075&ei=kRpIS5zJGIKQtgO9n9D1Dw&sa=X&oi=revisions_inline&resnum=0&ct=broad-revision&cd=1&ved=0CDIQ1QIoAA

Some of those links are old, but it looks like there are some BHOs and web page elements that can cause the problem. It's hard to say specifically what it is in your case.

If you have Microsoft Error Reporting turned on, you can look at the error report it generates and that might give a clue.
