I installed prefect uninstaller the other day and a few minutes later was hit by a virus. I scanned the installer file and low and behold I found a virus. Just a heads up if anyone tries to install this software.

The question is... where did you download it from? If you downloaded it from p2p, a warez or crack site, that would be why it had a virus.

Most interesting. Thanks for the link to the Wilders thread.

Checking more into the domain info, I got this. There are 26 other sites on the same IP address.

Quote:
Search Results for 67.15.190.12 [reverse DNS - ev1s-67-15-190-12.theplanet.com]
27 Results for 67.15.190.12 (Perfectuninstaller.com)

Website
1. Acasoftware.com
2. Advancedtweak.com
3. Cblite.com
4. Ceramictown.com
5. Cheesesoft.com
6. Cookerfactory.com
7. Digital-products-reviewed.com
8. Driverchecker.com
9. Duplicatefilecleaner.com
10. Easylauncher.com

23. Shocking-review.com
24. Spywarecease.org
25. Topbrandreviews.com
26. Videotoflashconverter.com
27. Windriverupdate.com

The other sites -- I checked about half of them, show domain registrants in China. Examples:

http://whois.domaintools.com/duplicatefilecleaner.com
http://whois.domaintools.com/shocking-review.com
http://whois.domaintools.com/spywarecease.org

That coincides with the ThreatExpert report where it says possible country of origin is China. Imo, any software coming out of China these days is suspect. It looks like all the sites on that IP address are rogue-ish.

It would be helpful if the ThreatExpert report showed where the other files are downloaded from and what the file names are.

If you need an uninstaller, I think Total Uninstall is a reputable program, and Ccleaner has an uninstaller too. Personally I don't use those. I use Ccleaner occaisionally to remove registry keys from old software that's been uninstalled, but that's about it.

No need for a uninstaller, my system is now clean. I image my hard drive every week with Macrium Reflect Free.
