|
|
good morning -
my PC is slow and i am 98% sure that there is no issue involving Spyware, Adware, Viruses, etc...i have done every scan possible and have worked with your technicians on numerous occasions in the past.
i just had an appt. with the cable guy on this issue. he claims, and i trust him because he is my friends brother, that the signal is fine. he ran a couple tests that were pretty standard and then a couple more that were above and beyond the call of duty, as far ads the cable guy goes:
one of which involved the "command prompt" and send out a "ping" to a random web site such as Google. after that, he lost me, but assured me that the outcome of the test was good.
the second was done at [url]testrun.net
anyhoo, he suggested that it is very likely a problem which a piece of software. i tend to agree since the sluggishness seems to happen even when, for example, i click on:
"Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs"
there are many other example of sluggish behavior that do NOT involve the Internet. when i was living in Swaziland, Africa, there was a 6 month period that i had no Internet and the PC was still sluggish.
i did not post a HiJack log...don't believe that this is the place for it.
if this is not the proper forum to deal with this issue. please advise me where to repost. if this is the proper forum, PLEASE SEND HELP.
regards,
dan

1. Clear out computer caches
2. Run a hard drive scan for bad sectors.
3. Defragment your hard drive.
simple steps that may help out. _________________ For this is the place
