SpyCleaner Platinum 9.6
topdownloads.net
My hosts file blocks their site, and the "user reviewer" shills on download.com who give rave reviews for known rogues, also rave about this app.

Would some please do a strip search on these guys?
Thank you,

hint
check the delisted list as well as the listed list
have you memorized it yet
why are the shills pushing it- affiliate marketing or something in house people?

I thought I had checked, but obviously I goofed up. I should not go on patrol so late at night I think. I haven't memorized it yet, but I am definitely beginning to recognize the chronic bad app pusher's main domains and alternate domains.
I don't know with any certainty if they are affiliates or in-house, but they all post rave reviews, for all the many "topdownloads.com" and "yoursoft.com" junk.
I am not allowed to post ROGUE LIST warnings about most of the worst KNOWN rogue listed garbage on download.com. I get the following message when I try.
----------
Our records indicate that you've already submitted a review of Maxion Spy Killer 5.0.

----------
Many of those I have posted in the past were also removed. It appears that maxionsoftware.com for one, can make download.com both remove my rogue list warnings and block me from posting any new warnings, about their "new" rogue software or any new versions of those I previously warned against.
Look at all the MAXION SOFTWARE they list on download.com.

MNS Spyware Remover & History Eraser 4.2
maxionsoftware.com [C-NET Editor rating 4 STARS!] users pan it for crashing their machines, impossible to uninstall and worse, etc.

Here is the one user review for that one posted.

Made my system unstable and had to reinstall OS

Cons: I am a pretty advanced user. I have been working with PC since early versions of DOS. I installed this to clean a computer before giving it to a co-worker. It rendered my system unstable. I was unable to run system restore (under safe mode as well) and after 2 hours work ended up having to restore my system. This software shouldn't be here.

I could literally flood this forum, with requests for tests on potential rogues listed on download.com, but I know that there really are bigger fish to fry which present very real danger to computer users.
I only hope to cause others here, who are not busy full on experts, to perhaps get involved by patrolling download.com and softpedia.com, to check their listings against the ROGUE LIST and post warnings.
Thanks for letting me have my say.
