Neat site:

Has anyone tried testing their favorite anti-spyware product against this?

I've tried their first test program twice, and both times it immedately rebooted the computer it was running it on. I have yet to try it on other computers.

Yes, I have used it and consider it to be very handy.

Remember that this is not an integrated test but a collection of single purpose "event generators". The fact that a particular application doesn't pass every module doesn't necessarily mean that it is ineffective. It is important to note that the modules only test the active protection features in the software under test. It would be futile, for example, to test the free version of AdAwareSE which provides no resident protection but is a reasonably capable scanner.

I think that it is most useful for:
    a. Determining which particular events an application monitors and protects; and

    b. Confirming that a particular installation is providing the protection that it was designed to provide

For example, application X claims to monitor changes to the hosts file and prevent them without administrator permission. Spycar can generate a hosts file change so that you can observe any alert generated and it will then report at the end whether the change was effected or blocked.
