First post.

I just want to thank you folks for this webpage. I have been fighting a couple of things for a week. I had a dose of Win 32 Hoaxalarm M that I was finally able to get rid of on my own with Ewido. I was left with popups for Spyaxe.com, Spyguard.com, Spytrooper.com, adultfriendfinder.com, etc.

I tried everything including AdAware, Spybot, AVAST, MS beta tool, CCCleaner, Ewido...... Nothing worked. I was about to reformat my HD and start over when I stumbled on a reference to this webpage in Maximum PC. I did some digging and finally settled on Spycatcher as my last resort. So far so good!!

The culprit seems to be something called Mssearchnet.exe which manifests as Spyaxe, etc. Spycatcher found it and killed it (so far).

I think I've got it killed ,but if not, I'll be asking for help.

In any event, thanks for the resource. It has really helped me!!!

Glad we could help, but feel free to post a HijackThis log to make sure you got rid of everything.
