Update Frequencies of AV-Scanners

The AV-vendor Mc-Afee announced the conversion to daily updates,
starting from Febr. 24th this year. For the moment this is only for commercial users.
So far there are regular updates once a week together with additional ones,
when there is imminent danger of fast-spreading dangerous malwares.

The differewntation between home-users and commercial-users is according
to assigned products they use.
The possibilty exists for private users to manually update at the same rate daily as the commercial updates.
This would compare to the proceedings common with Symantec.

The Live-Update virus datafile for Norton-Antivirus also takes place
daily as a rule of thumb.
Users can daily download through the so-called "Intelligent Updater" for the newest updates from Symantic's website.
Kaspersky Labs has an hourly update on weekdays,
and not that often during weekends.
