I decided to to see if this site is still up to the same tricks and, indeed, it is.
It changes your homepage and default search page to smartestsearch.com. It still puts the same entries into the hosts file also.
The domain registration info has changed, however.

Hmm... no Google search results for James Hmx and Yahoo maps and mapquest say no address 744 terrier lane in Mooresville, IN.
