Hi
That R3 was part of iSearch. Glad to see that thing gone.
System still freezing...
Lets look at something else. See if something hidden on here.
Couple things I want to look at.
Download rootkitrevealer from here:
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/rootkitreveal.shtml
Download is at bottom of page.
Save the download
Unzip it to its own folder
Open folder
Double click rootkitrevealer.exe
Hit "scan"
It will take a bit so go grab a sandwich or something.
Once scan is done if any results click "file"
Click save.
Save somewhere other than the rootkitrevealer folder.
Post results please.
**Note**
Not all results mean infection.
It is normal to havce some "discrepencies"
Next...
Create a folder right in the c: drive called SR
Download SilentRunners from here:
http://www.silentrunners.org/Silent%20Runners.vbs
Save it to the SR folder
Click start> run> type cmd and hit enter.
Type cd c:\sr and hit enter
Type "silent runners.vbs" -all and hit enter.
It will appear to do nothing then will pop up a pprompt it is done.
In the SR folder is a text file that starts with startup programs (computer name) date
Open that and post results.
Thanks! _________________ Never give up!

System freezing during scans I asked for?
Try disconnect from internet to run the scans.
Dont forget to save the log from rootkitrevealer one.
Might get thru them with no internet connection. _________________ Never give up!

Yep!...Big log for sure.
All ok tho.
Lets see that other log I asked for...the rootkitrevealer one.
Download rootkitrevealer from here:
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/rootkitreveal.shtml
Download is at bottom of page.
Save the download
Unzip it to its own folder
Open folder
Double click rootkitrevealer.exe
Hit "scan"
It will take a bit so go grab a sandwich or something.
Once scan is done if any results click "file"
Click save.
Save somewhere other than the rootkitrevealer folder.
Post results please.
This one will be short log.
**Note**
Not all results mean infection.
It is normal to have some "discrepencies" _________________ Never give up!

Hi
I believe that is OK as well.
Just to be sure...lets have a look at that reg key.
Click start> run> type regedit and hit enter.
Navigate to the following keys by expanding the + beside each:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Software
Classes
CLSID
{4CE3E977-A677-11d7-A773-00C04F68F44E} <--right click this key, choose export, call it clsid.txt and save to desktoop.
Exit regedit
Right click clsid.txt, open with notepad, post results please.
Thanks! _________________ Never give up!

Thats OK.
I dont think your freezing is related to malware since none seems to be present.
I would clean up my temp files again, then do a defrag. If you havn't defragged the drive in a while...things slow down.
In case you don't know....
Best to do it while offline cus you should shut down your antivirus, firewall, any other apps for best success. Otherwise the defrag will keep starting over and over....and will take forever to complete.
Also shut off your screensaver.
If you have a ton of files and programs...it can take quite a while. I usually do it b4 bed and let it go while sleeping.
Reboot when done.
Couple items you can disable from startups to increase performance and lessen bootup time. The following fixes are optional but recommended for performance: These fix do not delete the program....just tells windows not to run it at startup.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OSA9.EXE
For realplayer you will likely have to set it not to autoupdate from within the program itself or it will just re-load its startup entry.
Windows will have backed up a bunch of infected files in your system restore. Highly recommended to purge old restore points and set a new one.
How to if needed:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001111912274039?OpenDocument&src=sec_doc_nam
Let me know what that does for performance.
next if all OK....added protection. _________________ Never give up!

plus ive fixed those things in hijackthis - sysytem so far is going super fast!!!! _________________ STICK TWO FINGERS UP TO SPYWARE !!!!

Kewl!!
Ok....lets get some protection on here before you get attacked again.
You have done some of the following but never hurts to check.
IE-Spyad <--this puts several thousand sites in restricted zone for IE. If you happen on a site within its list they can't hijack you or install anything.
Program is free and updated about once a month.
Please follow readme instructions for install...it is a little different.
Single user XP PC use IE-Spyad1
Multi user XP PC use IE-Spyad2
All other OS use IE-Spyad1
Spywareblaster <--this prog blocks known bad active x controls, many tracking cookies and puts more sites in restricted zone.
Install> update> enable all protection.
Updates are about once a month and is free.
Spywareguard This program watches for any changes to your home/search pages for IE. If something (including you) tries to make changes, you will be alerted with a popup giving you the option to keep change or revert to previous settings.
Install> update. It should prompt you to start the program
Takses little resorces and is also free.
Using a hosts file will greatly increase security. Many of those flashy annoying ads on websites will not display and it blocks access to thousands of sites entirely.
Info and how to install:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
Keep a firewall running at all times. I use zone alarm. A free version can be downloaded here:
Free zone alarm
Remember to keep up with your windows updates including office.
Remember to keep your antivirus up to date.
Keeping all your security up to date
IE settings for increased security
Confused which antispyware is good or bad?
And finally...more security reading..: Protect your Computer
Happy surfing! _________________ Never give up!

yep....this day in age on the internet.....we need it.
Some of those nasty sites install a PILE of CRAP just by visiting...dont even need to click "yes" to anything. it is not going to get any better
i went back and checked over the logs...I see you uninstalled kaspersky!
You have NO antivirus right now.
Good free one here:
http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php
download it and install it.
Once installed reboot the computer.
Avg should start up on its own to go thru its configuration, updates (choose internet for update download location) and I recommend letting it do its first scan.
Once it is configured and manually updated the first time...it will check daily for updates and install them.
let it "heal" or "send to vault" anything it finds.
If infections found....reboot to finish cleanup.
Run scan again to ensure you are clean.
Keep this one installed!
keep well and surf safe. _________________ Never give up!
