Shocked
After not having anything on my laptop apart from windows defender, for 12 months, I thought it would be time to make sure I was adequately protected....but alas lol, I think I over did it!?!
I installed:
AVG AntiVirus free & PC tuneup 2014
Malwarebytes anti-malware (trial)
Spybot s&d

I covered chrome too
Embarassed
Avira browser security
AVG do not track
AVG privacy fix

Ok, ok, now that I've written it out-it's crazy I know lol

Not only am I worried that they will clash and I'm left with less protection than I started, but my laptop can't handle it - performance is obviously affected and Microsoft program's/chrome & Firefox/desktop are crashing with random errors I have never seen before...

I'm not sure what I need and unsure what is best and what I should keep
HELP!

Thankyou, Sarah Very Happy
First time user, please be nice! Crying or Very sad

Hi sarah,

In order to best help you with your problems I need to know what's running on your computer, so I'd like you to do the following for me ...

Download DDS and save it to your Desktop (must be in this location).
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.

  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:

    • DDS.txt
    • Attach.txt

  • Save both to your Desktop.
  • Copy/Paste the contents of both into your next reply please.

Hi Gary,
I ended up doing a reset and started afresh-I unfortunately didn't see your reply and needed to do something Smile
I should be fine now though? If it's still worth doing pls reply and I shall follow the steps to nip it in the butt!!
Thankyou again for replying Smile

If by reset you mean you've reformatted your hard drive and re-installed Windows, then there's certainly no need to do anything else. If there was any malware on your machine it will be gone now.

If that's not what you mean, and your computer is still giving you any problems, or you have any concerns, then please feel free to post me a set of DDS logs and I'll be happy to look them over.

If you are having problems with your computer, please read the instructions in the following topic ... http://spywarewarrior.com/viewtopic.php?p=211804#211804 ... then start a new topic in the Help with spyware removal forum, giving details of your problem, and if possible post the logs requested.
