|
|
Hi all.
Yesterday I upgraded SpywareBlaster from 3.1, but found that the new version no longer recognised Firefox 0.8.
So....I upgraded Firefox to 0.9, which I had read about as being compatible with SpywareBlaster, but the installation repeatedly hung and I could not import any of my settings from IE. As I understand it, this version of Firefox is a "preview".
I have now gone back to the old versions of both, which seem to work nicely together, although since all the fiddling around Firefox is not as speedy as it was.
Has anyone else had problems like this?

Sorted!
Found a thread over at Wilders http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=40241
and just started again, installing the Firefox upgrade first, then SpywareBlaster.
So far so good - thanks for listening!

You've done better than most. There are scores of topics at Wilder's about Firefox not working with SpywareBlaster. _________________ Nick's Security Ticker

It seems fine so far! But then, you can never tell - I was amongst those who had real problems with the ZA5 upgrade, and had to go back to the previous version, whereas many folks had no problems at all. I guess it all depends on what else is running which might cause conflicts.
When I read the threads at Wilders I just thought I'd have one more go, and roll back if necessary.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
Thanks for taking an interest.

I make system restore points if I'm going to do anything drastic - so far I've only had to use it once.
Wouldn't say I was paranoid exactly, but very cautious!
Cheers
