I'm happy to announce that I am now a moderator over at CEXX Forums

I'm not sure how many of you know, but that is the first forum I began to do HJT analysis under the watchful eyes of noted experts Unzy and sspears. Sadly both of them have gone on with life and are no longer involved with malwares, but I am going back there to help out.

The forum has until recently been overrun by spammers and neglected by all the moderators and admin.

But now, one of the remaining admins has begun to regain control, and I offered to assist him.

Please take the time to visit the site and make a contribution or two.

We can reclaim the site and make it the powerhouse it once was.

Tom\TeMerc

Still in the process of setting a few things up, however don't let that discourage you from posting whatever it is you find which you think would be of interest.

The more positive activity we get there the better.

The Admin is kind of slow in responding to some things for me, so setting things up may be longer than I'd like.

But I'm getting loads of positive responses and many offers of assistance so I am fairly certain the site will come back to its former usefulness and quality structure.

Cool! Glad to hear it.

I'm curious, is Bill going to start being hands on now? or are we just going to see staffers. He used to run a very tight ship. What ever happened over there anyway to cause the decline?

So far all I have dealt with is Tim, no Bill in sight and no explanation given as to why things got so bad.

Tho honestly, I didn't much push for any reason, perhaps I shall at a later date.

OK, but I still don't recall him being active when I was there, is he tied to admin in some way perhaps?

And he's only posted 14 times too, so not like he was some kind of huge presence there. And I wasn't around at all during that time span either, that was the year I spent going to rehab with wife 3 times a week for 3 hours a day and had doc appts in between.

Do you know him from some other forums maybe?

I find this just a little amusing. Bill is the owner of CEXX and the forum. And yes, I've known him since 97.

I'm guessing that since his pages haven't been upgraded in a very long time and I haven't seen him in several years, that he must have retired. I wonder who is paying the bills to keep the site online.

BTW Bill is the one who had LSPfix deved because LS kept killing thousands upon thousands of machines and leaving them crippled without any way to connect for help. For over a year, using AdAware would be like playing Russian Roulett. Bill saved the day. They never did get it right untill Patrick of SSD showed everyone how to use Wimdow's own API to renumerate the LSP stack. Anyway, Bill has been a very inspirational entity in this community for a long time. He was the one who turned me on to Proxomitron & Scott Lemon not to mention many other things.

OK, Mikey I know who it is you're speaking of now, and yes, I have been in contact with him.
