THANK YOU DAVE,
i just need to see some others sites.
all the changes at ccsp are causing a lot of technical difficulties.
it is just so hard to navigate from one point to another for reasons unknown to me, that it isn't fun to be online there right now.
it might be a lesson to all other site operators to get the site fixed, do what it takes to make it work,'cause if it isn't fun they aren't going to hang out there.
i'll be going back but not until i see the frustrating situation repaired.
there are no email notifications at present there about the answers to the threads.
that has been on and off since the move from jaguarpc to applicationx.net.
and the traffic is so high that they are having a tough time keeping on top of it.

i took a virtual tour of the new facility at applicationx and it was very impressive, maybe exactly what paul and robin need to be really successful.
if they get the email accounts open i will pay for that service cause i like them.
and they are talking about webhosting too .
that's not for me, i don't need a personal website.
and i don't want to babysit a site either.
next time,
tmov

hello
have you let pual at cc know of your problems? they just did a new server upgrade. and it might just be some scripting problem.
i hope they get it cleared up. i will drop in latter today see if i have any problems. and to see if i can help narrow it down to where.
i know its dang upsetting to try to use a site thats not working well.
take care hope things improve.

it's not that,Dave.
they just moved from jaguarpc to a new host at applicationx.
and the transition is abit complicated.
i just noticed that the email notifications are working just fine now.
i just turned on this p.c. to check on what's up and there came in a ton of email notifications.

dave have you noticed something wrong with the pandaactivescan at the website?
i get two pages displaying ontop of each other and you can't select anything to make it work.
for me that's just an inconvenience cause i only use to get a second opinion against mine, but for other people they might not even have an anti virus.
hey did you know that grisoft.com has started giving free trial versions of their big version AVG.V.7.0. for thirty days.
that should bring down some infections.
later.

hello
i have not used the active scan at cc because i had previously used housecall online scan. and i have never been able to run panda after. i,m sure theres a simple reason i probably missed some where. think with the new server there will be a scripting bugs to get worked out. this looks like one.
see you latter.

you know what a small world it is when you log on to the p.c. and go anywhere you want to go in a few seconds.
as i was telling dave, the biggest frustration is getting from page to page on my favorite site, ccsp, i spend as much time as i allow myself to spend reading and contributing what i can and if i'm not able to navigate without delay then it becomes a burden.
so i look for another place to learn something in the meantime.
it seems that as i watch the Darling Claire, she is always coming up with something that stimulating to me mentally.
this morning i was camping on a thread and watching her help someone, and she sent them to a german website to down load a product to see what was being loaded at start-up and i just had to go there and see for myself.
and i got the thing and it is amazing what these young people are coming up with in the form of what i call utilities to uncover the doings of the bad boys/girls.
that little product is called:
startdreck@ http://www.niksoft.at/download/frames.htm?http://www.niksoft.at/download/startdreck.htm
lets you see what you load and run at start-up.
ran it once and read it .
good little piece of work.

i hope you have a good remembrance today of the anniversary of the landing at NORMANDY, sometimes the memories are too much to deal with for me, the ones that those holidays cause me to re-call, you understand.
my little sister was born on the 7th of june 1957 and "D" day is not easy to forget because of that.
i like the format of the pages here.
the fonts are easier on my eyes.
i wish robin would get around to fixing the fonts at ccsp.
i have adjusted my system to ignore the fonts at websites but then it screws up the displays and the pages dont fit too well no matter what i do to change resolution and so on.
this blue is easy on the eye too.
this site has alot of potential for growth.
not enough sites dealing with bad code for folks to go to to get help with removal.
thanks for the note,
regards,
bud

Hi Bud,

I spent some time over at Caen; more speciffically Ouistreham and, at and on the Pegasus bridge or; Pont de Benouville to be precise.

Must not forget the Pegasus bar. I had the honor of meeting Madame Gandre who was there throughout the war; l also met her daughter too.

Was there as part of a ceremonial thing some years back. It was just before my incursion into the South Atlantic; South Gerogia to Pebble Island. Not a happy time. Something i'd prefer to forget.....if it were possible.

You'll see my sig or, part thereof at CC tells all....but nothing.

You take care and enjoy yourself here. Very Happy

Hi Bud,

Yep, you're right there. Fortuna Glacier on South GA to Pebble Island. Then; Malvinas; that's one name for the main Island Group, had a few others, too.

All kicked off on South Georgia. Insertion to release Brit POW's, then extract. All done and dusted. Move on up to Malvinas after that.

No more on this in open forum, OK?

All A-OK at CC. Many bugs now ironed out over the weekend.

did you get my recent p.m. at ccsp?
sites not working for me ,page generation times around twenty seconds for me sometimes much more.
and not affecting others.
can log on to ccsp at a different location on a dial up connection and get a sub-second page generation but on my line dsl no joy.
all other sites are ok except that one that's why i asked you if someone could get on pauls server and mess with account properties.

Hey TMOV

OldGuy was taken here (too bad, I'm using that name at a lot of places). Anyway, it's Little blonde Kid here.

Don't get much chance to visit CCSP these days. Very busy at home (especially with the kids) and busy at work too. Also, the weather's finally warmed up here so I spend as much time as I can outdoors these days. Being fron Eastern Canada we don't get much warm weather so we take advantage of it while we can.
Smile

Anyway, when I do drop into CCSP I'm experiencing very slow load times too. I reported this to Paul today but because I'm not there often it's hard to keep track of the issue. I'll try to stay on top of it though as I do plan to become a regular again in a couple of months.

Hello to everybody else too !

Cheers,
Little Blonde Kid
(AKA OldGuy)

i don't think that they are ever going to figure it out.
there's too much work for one man to do there, and just because he is now a "COUPLE" is probably making it tougher for him/ them.

NOW AS FOR THE FOOD!!
i can always persuade the chef to add some life to the recipes.
and it's amazing what a little garlic and salt and pepper can do for any recipe.
and you don't have to kick it up a notch like emiril.
i wonder if "suzi the cutiepie" wants this to grow?
and how big.

nice weather today, i'm going to the store and look for something that i can put on the grill for my good dog and i to have.

i wonder who's hosting this site.

I'm sure she wants it to grow, and believe you me it is growing, FAST. Even for the time that I've been a part of this forum its grown exponentially. It's just that we need experts/trainees/trusted HJT people to be able to volunteer enough time to get the logs solved. Amazing that the guys we have here are keeping up with it so well, and unlike CCSP which is out of control with HJT logs, the guys here have managed to answer about 98% of the HJT log posts in amazing time. The ones that don't get answered usually are bumped up by nomorespyware or other mods lurkin' around and they get answered as well.

I really need to get my butt in gear and perfect my technique on this stuff Wink being that I have a lot of free time at work as of late.

ok.
the hijack forums are not for me.
i do have a good understanding of the topic.
but i do not want to get involved with trying to get that stuff off of someone elses pc.
what i do for myself is; i run my scans for malware and hijackers about two to three times per day.
and it does not take me long to find something on my pc that does not belong there and then i get very aggressive with removing it.

when you do hjt scans as freuently as i do, you notice new things just at a glance when you see the results.
there are a lot of things that i like to do and part of it is because of my former life as an instructor in the fleet replacement squadron at moffet field cal.
in the field of anti-submarine warfare.
and i like to get the young peoples attention and teach them to be aware of what is on their pc and to get them to put up better defenses such as more anti spyware tools on the perimeter.
and an effective firewall, and anti-virus as well.
there's so much good freeeee ware available that no one should be having trouble, yet they still get into trouble.
and they're complacent about letting friends get on their pc's and surf the dirty sites , then they wonder what the heck is wrong with my computer?
you've heard that before haven't you?
well we will get this word out about the bad guys one way or another won"t we?
and part of computer security is a password protected administrator account too.
which means that no one gets on your pc with out you knowing about it.
and in my case no one gets on my pc EVER.
bud

my IRISH COUSIN, from the old country!!
i'm glad you found this site.
i hate to be accused of posting on ccsp and taking subscribers away from there but when i sit here at my monitor and wonder why i'm putting up with the slow page generation and page rendering times im tempted to post about it.
but the first time a mod or an admin sees that kind of post they will probably intervene and remove my notice.
this appears to be a site in its infancy, i hope we all contribute to its growth and prosperity,
do i hear an amen?

how's that mailwasher pro that i sent you a license for doing,ok or not?
i hope you stay intouch here wandrinstar, cause it is too much to sit at ccsp and wait and wait and wait for the site to paint on my monitor.
i think they view my site gripe that i posted with suspicion and not real.
well i'm grateful that i can launch a browser and come here to a refreshing new place that is clicking and ticking at the speed of my AMD athlon xp 2200 and these ddr400 dimms from kingston and this 10,000 rpm scsi drive from seagate technologies.
i will always remember ccsp as a great resource, but i wont remember the frustrating and maddening wait with any endearment.
i spent a lot of time there and posted almost 1600 posts, last i checked, maybe you could look for me, cause to go back and sit and wait is torture for me.
im almost 57 years old here and if i went to that site to hang out i would have to take-up drinking to anesthetize my central nervous system like a tranquilizer, you understand i hope.
and i too old to start taking up bad habits like that.
any way the post about the gripes has generated almost 700 hits by people camping on the thread and wanting to see if they can fault isolate and trouble-shoot the gripe and fix it,i don't think that there is a fix coming.
we should all meet here atleast twice a week to gossip. this is now my home page on my browser so let's make a deal to stay in touch ok?
and the email notifications are working as they are supposed to here and that's real nice.
when i get a notification and just click on it when i read my incoming mail and go right to the site with no delay it makes my day.
thank you to suzi "cutiepie"; i love her avatar.
ok cousin
next time,
bud

Hi Bud, yes I am learning about Mailwasher Pro. It's not just as easy as the earlier free versons, but yes I do use it. Thanks again.
You appear to be a little unhappy with CCSP at the moment, I do hope you keep calling in from time to time. The place wouldn't be the same without you. A very busy poster.
I will try and visit here as often as possible so we will probably cross paths. Well it's now 00.35hrs. here and near bedtime, so it's good night from me. Wink

(AKA OldGuy)

old guy,
do you know how to do a tracert?
on the thread where you posted your gripe to paul laudansky, his wife has asked to have you run a tracert and post the results to them on that thread.

you hit start > run > then type in cmd, then enter.
then type in at the blinking cursor>tracert> space> then type in computercops.net> then enter and wait .
then copy and paste to the site.

Some, today might know what Dir is . . . maybe. Through a Tracert at them? What about MD, CD, and RD? Then there was CITI, that was a lot of fun! But, those were the days when DOS was king, 1200 baud was new and 300 baud was main stay.

Sorry kids, your dealing with a couple of old fa!!s here! Very Happy

With our Lord's blessings,

Doug

hey !?
are you guys messin' with little blonde kid/aka old guy?

i hope he comes and reads this.
they need his tracert cause that site is having serious trouble.

but he doesn't want to go there anymore than i do, cause it's such a pain in the neck to do it.
you know i looked at the thread where they are trying to solve this problem and there are more than a thousand hits on that thread now from people following this gripe.
i think someone cracked into pauls server and messed with it.

144 replies and exactly 1100 hits on this problem.

the machine says it is generating a page in twenty three seconds but to display on my monitor it more like thirty one seconds.

OK, Not making light of anyone’s problems. Just having some drooling old man fun. I wasn't reading the "young Kids" problems. What do I need to look into? I know how to use Tracert and a host of others. Point me in the right direction and I will run.

With our Lord's blessings,

Doug

lol, this post is so fun to read if you just go down through it...its like 3 old guys going nostalgic Very Happy To bad I haven't been around long enough to fully participate in this conversation. Although I do remember good ole' BUAD modems.

Back on my Amiga 4000 (had a 3000 and a 2500 and a 1500 I believe as well over the years) Connected to the internet through a service called Genie by the Aladdin company (almost positive on that name). On a...YOU GUESSED IT, 2200 BAUD modem baby! Whew with such smokin' speed you could almost feel the bytes being transfered one at a time Laughing

I'll also run whatever is needed, to help out
