AIM is not what it used to be. In the beginning, it was suppose to be a means for AOL members to be able to chat with non-AOL members.
At some point they began downloading adware with their program an it became a tool for the company to make money with through the marketing industry. Currently AIM comes bundled with WildTangent. I don't know if it appears in the EULA or not but members who update an old version of AIM to the new version of AIM are not given a EULA to read, but WildTangent is still downloaded.
CWShredder will remove it, however, a search of the computer will reveal 6 zip files with the WildTangent name that are not removed by CWShredder. These can be manually removed if you know they exist.
People who contact AIM with problems are told that they are bound by AOL policy and cannot offer help with adware issues. They direct the person to contact AOL. People who contact AOL concerning problems with AIM's adware are told that AIM is a separate entity from AOL and they must contact AIM. _________________ nomorespyware |

Almost all the buddy icon sites I list are foisting wildmedia, NetPal at-games favoriteman, and even the dreaded Nictech Networks look2me vx2 thru the OptInRealBig sites owned by the #3 king os spam Richter who also runs porn and quite a lot of other shady types.
What is bad is that those that don't keep joinging and hard coding the adware installs on their site have links to those sites which means young kids and teens who go there for enjoyment can come away with more than they bargained for. _________________ Wächter der Geschichten:
