I have noticed that my antivirus (NOD32) and one of my antispyware apps (ZoneAlarm Pro Antispyware) are detecting GameSpy Arcade (or in NOD32's case, one of its components) as adware or a trojan. This leaves me to think how many other companies are detecting GameSpy Arcade. _________________ Spyware is so uncool.

You do get ads on the free version of GameSpy Arcade but that is clearly stated on their Download page.
It doesn't install without user's knowledge or consent. It does use an ActiveX installer but it also offers a downloadable version of the setup program. What's more, the ActiveX installer clearly states what the ActiveX control is (ie. no deceptive language) and what it does. In my opinion it shouldn't be detected at all.
BTW, NOD32 detectes the ActiveX installer and gsda.dll (one of GameSpy Arcade's components) as Win32/TrojanDownloader.SpyGame.A Trojan _________________ Spyware is so uncool.

It's actually the ActiveX control in the C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files folder that is being flagged. This is an FP.
However, there is the issue of ZoneAlarm detecting GSA as adware. I also searched for gsda.dll on Google and found that Norton is also detecting GSA as adware. Kaspersky is also detecting GSA as "riskware".
I wonder how many other companies are detecting GSA as adware/riskware? _________________ Spyware is so uncool.
